After a trip to Clear Lake for the two Common Loons ended up unsuccessful, I took the opportunity to get some close ups of a few Killdeer and a Common Grackle. Killdeer are pretty cool looking once you see them up close! Pretty amazing too, if you approach them while they are on their nest, they will hang their wing out and pretend like it is broken while slowly pulling you away from their young ones. It's all a distraction! They are pretty innovative birds I guess.
